The Company is Positioned Furthest to the Right for Completeness of Vision in entire Magic Quadrant
PORTLAND, Ore., December 6, 2018 – Smarsh®, helping customers get ahead – and stay ahead – of the risk within their electronic communications, today announced that analyst firm Gartner has named Smarsh (Actiance) a Leader in its 2018 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Information Archiving1 for the fourth consecutive year. The report provides a detailed overview of the EIA market, and evaluates vendors based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. "Today's digital workplace conversation is shifting from email to mobile, social and collaboration platforms. Smarsh customers are leveraging all of these powerful communication tools responsibly with capture and archiving support across the industry's widest breadth of channels, and we believe our position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant validates this continued leadership and innovation," said Brian Cramer, CEO of Smarsh. "At a time when many large enterprises are struggling under the weight of status quo, legacy archiving systems, our modern and extensible technology stack is accelerating the adoption of modern communications channels, helping customers extend and strengthen their compliance and e-discovery initiatives and simply do more with their valuable archived data.”
In 2018, Actiance and Smarsh joined workforces, aligned under the Smarsh brand, and introduced the Connected Suite, its combined, comprehensive product portfolio. Over the past 12 months, major drivers and enhancements to Smarsh business have included:
- K1 Investment Management announced the acquisition of Actiance, a pioneer in communications compliance, archiving and analytics for the top banks worldwide, for the purpose of combining with Smarsh. - The launch of the new Connected Suite of product offerings, encompassing electronic communications capture, archiving, supervision, e-discovery, and control. The Suite is designed to help customers embrace the growing number of communication channels that drive business and further meet their electronic communications retention and oversight obligations.
- Announced updates to its executive leadership team to build on the innovative heritage of both Actiance and Smarsh, providing products and service engagements that are the right fit for customers of all sizes – from single office broker-dealers to the world’s largest banks and government agencies.
