On the Record: When Public Communications Matter
The way that government agencies interact with their communities and constituencies has been digitally transformed. Consider that:
- 1,985 US government agencies maintain official Facebook accounts, while another 757 have official YouTube accounts
- 64% of US counties and 51% of US cities maintain an active presence on LinkedIn, including 73% of top elected officials
While conducting government business on today’s social platforms produces greater engagement, it also creates new challenges in maintaining transparency and meeting government records requests. This session will explore how government agencies are responding to today’s communications realities.
